I have read other posts from other people who like you, were less than satisfied with the Still Drinkin people.

They seem to make better adds, than stills.

Maybe, and at your expense it would seem.

Husker and Uncle Jess, it might be worth starting a specific thread on people's (good and bad) experiences with commercial operators, and make it a sticky. Gotta be careful of legal shit though.

i told them i was done and to just recredit my account... the guy on
the phone refused, i said it's ok my credit card company would get my

static noise with your voice" and said he was losing me over and over
then hung up on me. Never to be heard from again. Now it is Dec 3rd
and the credit card company has closed the case in my favor. I called
them right after the guy hung up on me and they took my money from
their account immediately, but it takes them 2 months to finalize it.

I'm just updating in the off chance someone else will read this when
they are thinking about buying from www.stilldrinkin.com . These guys
are just a scam, don't waste your time. I got my money back but it
took forever. If you are reading this and your just starting out in
distilling and wondering what to do, start here:
http://homedistiller.org/ there is a ton of info there including
reputable places to purchase a still.

And isn't that a scary thought, given their childish spelling, their lousy grammar and their amaturish layouts?

Has anyone had luck getting a refund or a still? I ordered mine at the end of November and have been getting the run around ever since. I spoke with rob he tells me he'll have to check with his dad call between 4 and 5 and you will get a guy buy the name of Mike ( I think is his dad) he's just crazy, tells me all about what Rob is cooking for dinner or how he had to help rob fix his blazer but cannot answer where my Still is. I turned my complaint over to PAY PAL. We'll see what they can make happen. All I wanted was a Still for xmass so I can start a new hobby.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Yes, I hate to say bad things about others, but the still drinkin folks are NOT good people. I am not sure what you can do to get your still or your money back.

IF you paid for this with a CC (not a debit card, or direct bank transfer) through Paypal, then you CAN get the CC company to do a charge back. You can only do this a few time (at most) a year. The CC companies do monitor that practice closely. However it IS a practice that is done, and done especially for companies/people who do not live up to their end of the contract (and these still drinkin fools are NOT living up to their end of the contract). A CC company should do a charge back for you, if you can provide documentation showing that the still drinkin people really have no intension of making the deal good.

Even if you did use a debit card for Paypal, Paypal "will" go to bat for you, if the seller is not sending the product. It is a little harder to do, but I have had to do it in the past. My kid ordered some "anime" movie crap from some crook in Canada. Again, no ship. We ended up getting about 90% refund from Paypal. Was not everything we paid, but it was a learning experience for him. He has been more careful about internet purchases (such as researching the company prior to spending a dime).

Again, good luck.

Thanks for the reply. They put on a good front with their website. I was in a hurry and didn't research them enough. I don't expect this to be setteled anytime soon, but I still so I figured I would make one. I am new to this and hae a lot to learn can you point me to a good plan on a reflux still. The one I paid for from Stilldrinkin.com was the Python eletric still. Was this a good one or do you recomend me building something else.

Scumbags.

If you got any workshop skills at all you should be able to build yourself a better one, and cheaper, than anything they can offer.

I think it's pretty obvious we need to spearhead some sort of effort to make folks aware that stilldrinkin.com is run by a bunch of crooks.

Do a search for stilldrinkin.com and you'll see how much time they spend adding their site to advertiser sites and so on. In my opinion an effort to get in, make their money, then get out before anyone realizes they're a bunch of rip-off artists.

someone want to suggest or add links for reputable dealers, and also for instructions for making stills?

http://homedistiller.org/wiki/index.php/Stilldrinkin.com

I want to make a good page so when folks do a web search they'll see this page and get some good info before they get taken by crooks.
