did i buy the wrong yeast. i bought twinlabs brewers yeast online. went to put it in my mash.. nothing is happening.
is this real yeast?
on the back it says a bunch of stuff about nutrition and it says " not to be confused with brewers type yeast". wtf does that mean

yep, brewers yeast is left over dead yeast off the bottom of beer fermenters, it can be used as nutrient if it does not contain salt.or preservative.
what you making? many use bread yeast, beer yeast, wine yeast, makes some difference if your making a "flavored" mash/wash.

whiskey. well i was. i dumped a bunch of that crap in there. so now its going to be off tasting. i guess ill go to the store tomorrow and buy some bakers yeast and start over with my mash

Just leave it in there for neutrient and add some bakers yeast
