Central Fla bust

Postby UnclePaul » Sat Nov 07, 2009 5:05 am

It was on the news last night that two men were arrested in central Florida for making "Illegal moonshine"
They showed their pics and said that they had bonded out of jail.
An Illegal moonshine still and three bottles of shine were confiscated.
The guys said they were making it for themselves and to sell to friends.
Some one should have explained to keep their mouths shut!

FLquacker also posted the link to the story.

And,,,,,,such a sophisticated outfit. The law should be proud to have collared those bootleggers.

Truely a sloppy looking bunch of evidence.

First story said 7 jars. From the looks of the still, that was 7 runs, without cuts.
It is the very things that we think we know, that keep us from learning what we should know.

Certainly was a fine piece of workmanship, LW. I wish that I'd gone to all that trouble. I think I'll re-build my rig to bring it to that level of sophistication. I'll bet my life that it produced a fine spirit.

I only hope they weren't members of this forum. We'll miss their input. :( :( :(

Of course I'm jeffing joking (victorians will understand), LW. To sell is againsts all our 'moral' rules, rules in which I entirely agree with. If you sell, expect the consequences. I just don't understand why these people do sell.
This is a fun hobby; a hobby that allows one to exceed the standard available and that's what I like. That's why I do it anyway, and dickheads who sell make it more difficult for all of us.

People sell, primarily, due to greed and ego more than needing the money... These are the people who are most likely to get caught... I have my doubts that these guys are members here, unless they just spent enough time here to learn enough to get themselves into trouble... Maybe they have videos on YuoTube because they almost look familiar...

I'm with ya blanik,,,I'm just adding to the drama,,,,,,or lack there of.

Shit, that little boiler isn't big enough to keep up with a typical personal consumption. Forget about rendering additional for sale.

Betcha they didn't sell more than 4 or 5 gallons tops,,,,,,,if that.

I understood that making alcohol for personal consumption wasn't illegal. What is the rule in Fl? Anybody know? They have shops all around me that allow you to make 6 gal batches of wine for you to bottle yourself and take home....
