Just goes to show that they will go after small production operations... Keep it small... Keep it quiet... Keep it out of site... And, most important, don't do something seemingly innocent at the moment, yet stupid, that gives reason for Johnny Law to come snooping around... Old Johnny Law is a creature of opportunity...

Best summary of smart legal advice for the hobby stiller that I have seen.

Except those lucky enough to live in New Zealand, of course.

Don't mind if I use that in my sig, do you, Rad? (With spelling correction: site/sight  )

Thats a damn shame.

Down here in FL. there are people lined up round the block at these "pain releif centers". A pretty motley lookin bunch usually. All gettin their "legal" meds...... And lining the pockets of the pharmers with every last cent they've got......... And thats legal!

[Mod Edit: Removed the more political stuff. Hook.]

What I don't understand is '13 prescription pills that were not in a pharmacy container.' So what, I carry meds all the time?? Can only guess that the law were bloody desperate to get something that will stick in a court.

I've been busted for not having my pills in the original container... They'll even bust you for OTC drugs like aspirin... Been there... Done that...

Most people may be okay with it, but most law makers and law officers are not. Don't matter if they are wrong, they still got the law on their side. For now.

The guy had a couple gallons of moonshine, fine. Even a few plants, fine. Pills out of their bottle..fine.
I think there is more to it though. Read between the lines, is the guy just an artisan distiller making whiskey? Or is he making/growing/selling whatever he can and to whoever he can?
Maybe it was a mother or father that turned in "that old bastard down the road that feeds the local kids alcohol and drugs"?

There is probably more to the story than the media is telling.

If he was busted for his own stock for personal consumption, then that's wrong. If he was busted because of selling all that...then good, his type is counterproductive to artisan distillers who want to make distilling a legal hobby.

As was said before, keep it quiet and don't sell cause then your not doing it as a hobby, your willingly evading taxes.

I'm obviously not against the shine, and I don't care if he's got a few plants - even if he's selling it, but if he's selling the "controlled" pills - that's no good. That stuff took away one too many of my friends.

The best part - the AP report from HAZARD, KY.
